Biography
PAINOUT is a Bulgarian rock band from Varna.

The band was formed by Andon, Nikolai, Edmon and Krasimir during the summer of 2011 with the goal of writing their own original music, experimenting with different subgenres of rock and metal. The vocalist Zhivko Ivanov joined the band in the autumn, that same year, and helped PAINOUT to form an image of a band mixing together elements of progressive and alternative rock and metal.

The band played their very first gig on the 3rd of November 2012. Numerous live shows at local clubs followed. Nearly a year later, in September 2013, the band had two live video shoots for their songs “H.U.L.L.A.” and “Nothing More to Say”. Soon after that they made a guest appearance in the show “България днес” (“Bulgaria Today”) broadcasted on channel BNT2.
On the 16th of November the PAINOUT shared a stage with polish post-rock band KEIRA IS YOU as part of KEIRA’s concert in Ruse.

After having done an appearance on TV, PAINOUT were invited for an interview at Radio Varna. The show they appeared on is called “От другата страна” (“From The Other Side”) hosted by famous local rock journalist Martin Nikolov. On the 17th of March 2014 the band returned to Radio Varna, to play a one hour set which was broadcasted live.

Recording sessions for the band’s debut album began in July 2014 and lasted 4 months, until October. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Vasil Vasilev and PAINOUT at “Studio 33”, Varna. The album was delayed and at the end of the 2014 (after the recordings were completed) the vocalist Zhivko moves on and leaves the band while the other musicians continue with the project. After all, the album was officially released on 8th of June, 2015 and contains 10 songs and one bonus track. But the lack of a singer stopped the bands from actively performing the album live.

PAINOUT searched for singer but did not find an appropriate candidate so decides that the guitarist Andon Donev will take care of the leading vocal duties. Meanwhile health issues forced the bassist Edmon Mardirosyan to leave the band. He was replaced by Ivan Rusev.

PAINOUT returned on stage in November 2016 and in the spring of 2017 started recordings of a new EP with new and unreleased material.

On 11th of May, 2018 the band was invited to take part in the concert “Rock Acoustic”, part of the festival “Discovery 2018” and PAINOUT performs 20 minute, special unplugged set . October brought the first official PAINOUT video – “Stone Skipper’s Diary” – which was shot at few locations near Varna and Shabla. The video was directed, shot and edited by Angel Kunev.

Finally, on 23 rd of November the new EP “Something More to Say” was released and it was presented by a special show in “Rubik Art Center”, Varna with the bands L.S.D.D. and Deviouz. After that PAINOUT started a mini tour in Bulgaria to support the new release…
